The scheduled live TV snip seems to be causing a bit of a stir! According to the Sunday Mail “Family and children’s groups are outraged at plans for a of a man having a vasectomy. The has also condemned the showing of the graphic medical procedure, planned for ’s Live program. “

Sounds to me like “There’s no such thing as bad publicity”. It’s likely to be a repeat of the UK live vasectomy, as it’s the Marie Stopes organisation behind it. My guess is that like the UK live vasectomy it will be responsibly done, and it strikes me that by stirring up the public in advance, that should ensure some good viewing figures.

I wonder if the “Hospital watch” type program format is used in Australia? I’d guess that it is. WHY do they always show gory operations at the time most people are having an evening meal??! So are Australians used to seeing graphical on TV anyway?

I know nothing about the presenter, or the show’s normal format. I suppose if the presenter, or show usually trivialises serious topics the criticisms might be justified. Anyone in Australia able to shed more light on this?

I hope they post it on the net for all to see, as they did with the UK one.
