Many women that come to Dr. Berger for their tubal reversal procedure often state that the reason for having the surgery is that they have regretted having their tubes tied in the first place. It is our mission that tubal reversal surgery with Dr. Berger will restore hope, fertility, and the opportunity to have children for 800 more couples, as we have done each year in the past. The Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center message board offers women a chance to see that they are not alone in their feelings and desire for the tubal reversal procedure.

Although reversal surgery at Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center is statistically and financially the best option for pregnancy after a
tubal ligation, women over age 40 have a special set of circumstances that are – unfortunately – often not addressed during an IVF consultation. The truth is, most IVF clinics will not accept patients over age 40 or 42 unless they agree to use donor eggs (eggs from a younger woman). This is to help keep their statistics high. We performed IVF for many years at Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center and Dr. Berger is now limiting his practice to tubal reversal surgery for a reason: It gives women who have previously had a sterilization the chance to conceive naturally again — without medications, shots, and continued expense each time they want to conceive. Most of the women who contact us have already considered IVF – and have definitely ruled out donor egg IVF -and for good reason. It will be very important to ask your reproductive specialist very directly whether he/she will accept a woman age 42 for IVF without donor eggs or decline you if your FSH level is slightly elevated (as many clinics do).

Dear Dr. Berger & Staff,
Just wanted to take this opportunity while sending back my feedback sheet to thank you all so much for making our surgery experience so wonderful. I must say that when we first found the clinic the day before my surgery for my consult, we were surprised by the small appearance of the building. My husband & I expected a big sprawling clinic/hospital looking place. But once we entered into the reception area we were at ease. The receptionist was very kind & took a picture of us together so Dr. Berger would be able to “put a face with the name”. I thought that was great, that he thought enough of his patients to do that. We sat in the waiting area looking at & reading all the pictures of new babies & hundreds of thank you’s & blessings.
